This paper explains how one can integrate WebSphere Commerce Suite with a back-end order management application. This scenario presents a fictitious manufacturing company called MANCO, which produces bicycle parts and accessories. MANCO currently uses the J.D. Edwards OneWorld application on an IBM eServer iSeries server for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. MANCO wants to take advantage of the Internet global connectivity to give its business customers a new way to buy products and to check order status while augmenting the manual sales processes with direct electronic sales to its business customers. MANCO has decided to implement an electronic storefront as a business-to-business site. The site will be integrated with its current ERP system.
