The media delivery company that developed the system specializes in providing entertainment content, but had no expertise in display systems or the special requirements of equipment for medical environments. They turned to Planar to guide them through the intricacies of medical display requirements. Unlike the traditional bulky TV mounted in a corner of a hospital room, the new bedside entertainment system is based on Planar's VitalScreen flat panel monitor. The medical-grade VitalScreen monitor ideally met the customer's requirements for image quality and touch screen interface, as well as hospitals' stringent specifications for equipment at patients' bedsides.
