The performance tests of three POWER4 platforms, IBM eServer pSeries 690, 655, and 650 were evaluated using the PMaC Benchmark Suite. The PMaC benchmark tests can be used to meaningfully compare and predict machine performance on parallel applications. This paper summarizes the results on memory bandwidths and latency for load and store, I/O performance, communication bandwidths, and mega floating-point operations per second (MFLOPS) for loop applications.
