Bionorica AG (www.bionorica.de) is a leading German producer of high-quality plant-based pharmaceutical products. The challenge was to create a company-wide view of pharmaceutical information - both technical and commercial; reduce internal email and phone calls; cut administration costs and software license fees. Bionorica was already using an IBM eServer iSeries Model 820 server for accounting and ERP applications, and Wolfgang Franz realised that IBM DB2 Universal Database, which is fully integrated into the iSeries operating system - OS/400 - would be the ideal tool to create a corporate knowledge base. Using IBM DB2, Bionorica has built a single, company-wide information store, accessible by all staff using only a Web browser.
