A series of tests were conducted to evaluate GPFS performance for HPC applications on Linux clusters. The clusters in this test were x345-based systems using FAStT900 disk controllers and EXP700 disk drawers. This paper summarizes and interprets the results of the benchmark test. It also proposes alternative untested designs that were suggested by these results.
