As new releases of Lawson software and newer versions of IBM hardware become available, there is a constant need to test the capacity and performance of the combination. A comprehensive set of performance tests on IBM eServer BladeCenter servers in a Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server environment was run to help develop a set of central processing unit (CPU) and input/output (I/O) guidelines for sizing. The results demonstrated a consistent response time as users were added, with a linear increase in CPU utilization. The BladeCenter server could support 1600 heavy users of the Lawson 8.0.x application.
