This paper describes a technique for generating high-definition (HD) video test patterns with Xilinx FPGAs. Video test patterns are used to verify the proper operation of video equipment. Most video equipment capable of generating a video signal can also produce one or more video test patterns to verify proper operation of the video equipment.
