NASA Mars Rover: Visualizing the Red Planet With NVIDIA Quadro Graphics

NASA lands two rovers on Mars and receives photographic image data from the surface. The data transmissions from Mars involve massive amounts of image data that must be quickly studied. Accurate information must be extracted from the data, shared with the scientific community, and made available to the public so they can watch and understand the mission. The NVIDIA Quadro graphics allow NASA scientists to use PC-based workstations to view the largest and most topographically accurate 3D models ever constructed during remote space exploration. Scientists interactively plan rover activities using 3D photorealistic reconstructions of the surface.
