Today's information storage challenges are widespread and well known. Although raw storage costs are decreasing, organizations are spending increasingly more on storage acquisition and management. And in spite of economic conditions, storage consumption - and the amount of storage that needs to be managed - continues to grow exponentially. Networked storage and consolidation efforts such as deployment of SAN and/or NAS solutions have provided some relief by helping ease management costs, improve asset utilization, and increase flexibility and scalability. Implementing a solution to deliver storage as a service delivers the benefits of outsourcing - cost reductions and control of the data.
