Situated in one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, the University of South Florida (USF) is among the nation's largest academic centers for applied technology. Given the University's expansion plans, the university needed to ensure that USF's infrastructure was optimized to support this new growth. Their choice for the heart of the new voice network was an Avaya S8700 Media Server running Avaya Communication Manager telephony software. They decided to deploy the S8700 in a centralized configuration that would allow it to support all of the University's voice applications - including our multiple call centers. In one fell swoop, the total port capacity essentially doubled.
