WilTel Communications through its operating subsidiary Williams Communications, LLC, provides voice, data, video, and IP services to carrier-class customers, such as telecommunications and media companies, for whom bandwidth is either the primary business or a core component of the products and services they deliver. WilTel wanted to offer its customers the ability to "manage your network within our network" by providing a full suite of network management capabilities from a single, easy-to-use entry point. To deliver a premium level of operational visibility to its customers, WilTel turned to the award-winning BEA WebLogic Portal. WilTel built the Direct Network Access (DNA) portal on BEA's unified, simplified, and extensible platform, which provides the foundation for an application that enables WilTel customers to, more effectively manage their bandwidth utilization to reduce costs and increase revenue flow.
