The fleet management service, subsidiary "Fuhrparkmanagement" in Nuremberg is responsible for managing some 60,000 vehicles for Deutsche Post AG. Only a short time ago, the data collection and data storage functions of the fleet management IT application were distributed over 139 servers, thus incurring enormous administration overhead. These 139 servers have now been consolidated into two PRIMEPOWER 400 servers (cluster configuration). Apart from the excellent six-digit savings in the IT area, a basis was also created for ensuring optimal cost control of the fleet.
