Business Objects S.A is the world's leading provider of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. The challenge was the need for better information exchange with customers and partners along with the need to reduce the cost of integration and customization, increase visibility over the value chain, as well as extend BI extranet capabilities. The solution was easy portal integration. Business Objects built a product called Developer Suite Web Services. The main objective of this product was to set up a Web Service on the Server Product and to allow customers to do easy portal integration and information aggregation in an intranet or extranet.
