This white paper introduces the Enterprise Data Center (EDC) blueprint, a partner-led Microsoft Systems Architecture (MSA) design. EMC and partners created this blueprint based on the Microsoft-created MSA EDC to achieve scalability, availability, security, manageability, performance, supportability, and geographic distribution. The design goals discussed show how Microsoft applications, including Exchange and SQL, can be highly available and deliver supportable, pre-configured, pre-tested platforms to deploy state-of-the-art technologies.
