This white paper provides guidelines for analyzing web statistics in an effort to promote a better understanding of audiences and their behaviors as they navigate through a website. Web statistics are compiled from web server logs. Server logs are giant files that are created when users access a website. The logs track transactions for file requests generated by the user when he/she requests a page, clicks on a link or image, etc. In addition, logs can also track IP addresses, browser and platform information, refers, and the country from whence the user came.
