The challenge for Lord Corporation was to implement an SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, on a server and storage infrastructure that will provide high performance at a low cost. They deployed two storage area networks (SANs) based on the DellEMC FC4700-2; 30 Dell PowerEdge servers, a Dell PowerVault 136T tape system for backup and restore functions and PowerEdge load-balancing server appliances. They experienced exceptional server performance and reliability at low cost, streamlined backup procedures, simpler system administration designed to lead to lower IT costs and a solid disaster recovery plan.
