Under the watchful of eye of taxpayers, the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development became woefully aware of the need to address the quality of its service delivery. With the turnaround time of a court case averaging two years and regular complaints of poor information and service at the courts, the HR internal stakeholders took action to address the situation. In partnership with Learning Resources, the Human Resources (HR) Business Unit of the Department of Justice and Constitutional development has systematically unfolded an 18-month project called Ekuseni- A Zulu word meaning “essence of a new day” -which lays the groundwork for significant improvements in the level of competence within Justice. The initiatives were implemented from February 2002.
