In the perspective of offering to motorists, [from an operational point of view], a efficient and effective service, ACI and DTT decided to start a cooperation project targeting the implementation of a single graphical user interface for an "Auto e-Counter" application. Behind the unified user interface, proprietary data from each Agency would be exchanged, providing cross-checking tools, better functionalities and, overall, a single business workflow, integrating at real time, the different processes happening at each Agency. The two Agencies integrate their business processes via SOAP over HTTPS messages flowing between the two administrations. For modeling the solution and making automatic code generation of class skeletons they used Rational XDE.
