Understanding the fundamental differences between systems management products, such as SMS or Tivoli, and a remote control product, such as NetOp, is a critical first step in comparing them. Systems management applications are designed to do many things including remote control and support of distant PCs. But users typically report that because NetOp is a best-of-breed remote control application, it is often complementary to products, such as SMS, by adding superior speed, security and functionality to a systems management installation. Users are typically drawn to NetOp for large, complex, networks, and for support desks that count on the added productivity remote support provides. Author(s): Albert Caballero CrossTec Corporation
