Dow Corning made the transition from a geographically focused management structure to a global approach that encompasses a portfolio of industry business units. Its supply chain planning processes also became global in order to support this transformation. The company now provides global visibility to key supply and demand information and links vertically integrated business areas together into a single networked plan. This approach is enabled by the demand planning (DP) and supply network planning (SNP) functions of SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO), the core of mySAP Supply Chain Management (mySAP SCM).
