From its origins as a small community based building society in suburban Sydney in the 1930s, St George has grown to become Australia's fifth largest bank with about 400 branches in four states. The bank looked for an organisation that would be a partner, rather than simple a service provider; a partnership that would go beyond fixing equipment, to providing information like feedback on what equipment is out there, its relative lifespan, and whether things need to be replaced. IT infrastructure services are provided to St George under the umbrella of Fujitsu's InfraCare branded range of services. Fujitsu looks after around 70,000 assets Australia-wide for St George, including 24,000 EFTPOS terminals, ATMs, cash dispensers and branch teller machines.
