West Midlands Police is the UK's second largest police force. WMP has faced the need to regularly enhance its network infrastructure to deliver high performance, high capacity, and high reliability-all against the backdrop of keeping costs down. On the advice of 3Com's Professional Services team, WMP installed a solution that combines 3Com XRN (eXpandable Resilient Networking) technology with high-speed Gigabit Ethernet switches. Installing an XRN switching fabric in its two sites has quickly resolved WMP's need for greater resilience and reliability.
