This paper discusses about network telephony, which is more affordable and cost-effective than conventional phone systems. Network telephone solutions are Ethernet-based and simpler than traditional systems. Whereas conventional phone systems require a dedicating wiring system throughout your facility, network telephony merges your telephone services with your LAN (local area network), thereby eliminating the need for two wiring systems and dramatically reducing installation costs. A network telephony system leverages your network and protects your investment in servers, Ethernet hubs, switches and routers.
