This paper provides information about a proposed program to measure the stability of Longhorn Display Driver Model (LDDM) drivers based on customer crash data from systems running Windows Longhorn. On the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems, display drivers currently represent a large portion of crashes experienced by customers and reported to Microsoft through the Online Crash Analysis (OCA) program. Crash data is one of the best indicators of display driver stability since it shows real world instabilities. However, due to the structure of the OCA program, OCA data is incomplete and cannot currently give an accurate picture of the relative stability of display drivers.
