This paper considers the performance of the most popular technologies for processing XML documents that are available in the two dominant software platforms today: Java and .NET. Both Java and .NET offer similar facilities for parsing, manipulating and creating XML documents. This paper considers the streaming and DOM parsers in both platforms and compare their performance.
