With the power of the Auto-ID related technologies, every physical object can be identified with a unique identifier when an Auto-ID tag is attached to the object. This paper views the software architecture around Auto-ID from a standpoint of the Internet architecture and its future real space networking. The focal point of the discussion in this white paper is the name space design and operational issues for real space related. It is most probable that various technologies proposed by the Auto-ID Center will make it possible to connect RFID-tagged objects in the real space with the associated data in cyber space.
