Goodyear Nordic decided to implement a new business model to make the company more efficient. Rather than having independent business units in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, the activities were consolidated in a Nordic operation and processes were harmonized across country borders. Today, human resources (HR) support is provided by Zalaris, a Nordic shared-services provider. SAP provides the underlying HR application along with the SAP NetWeaver platform, which Goodyear accesses though the SAP NetWeaver enterprise portal. The actual return of investment, based on concrete and measurable figures, shows a good payback.
