Recent information technology (IT) advances have created the framework to support the achievement of these objectives. Schlumberger Information Solutions (SIS) has expanded its framework into the integrated systems that provide an optimization solution: a seamless coupling of production data and transmission systems with expert numerical modeling and decision-making applications for the entire reservoir and production system. SIS calls this the Reservoir and Production Optimization workflow, which is explained in this paper. The scenarios in the paper demonstrate how reservoir managers can use this workflow to simultaneously achieve all corporate objectives: short-term production targets, medium-term financial goals, and long-term strategic objectives.
