MQSeries Integrator from IBM and iWay from Information Builders approach enterprise application integration (EAI) differently. MQSI is a real-time, rules-based message broker endowed with a process flow framework - essentially, a data transformation engine wrapped in a message routing mechanism that rests on a messaging and queuing foundation. iWay, in contrast, comprises an open, standards-compliant integration skeleton and a selection of EAI building blocks. This paper is about synergy - it shows why MQSI and iWay together amount to more than the sum of their parts.
