ScandinavianIT, a subsidiary of SAS, provides IT services for the airline industry. Faced with a shortage of application experts and the difficulty of recruiting new COBOL programmers, ScandinavianIT realized that it needed to update its archaic OS/390-based development tools. With the shortage of skilled COBOL staff, the company badly needed help to make its COBOL programming environment more intuitive and easier to use. The company had worked with Micro Focus in the past, so they were already well acquainted with the company and knew its pedigree. ScandinavianIT had examined various solutions from different vendors, but selected Revolve and Mainframe Express from Micro Focus.
