This article focuses on what is often called out-of-band message processing, using a powerful feature of JAX-RPC called handler classes, which let developers preprocess and postprocess SOAP messages so that specific actions can be taken independently of the SOAP message processing. It shows three distinct JAX-RPC handlers to add functionality to a JAX-RPC Web service without changing the underlying Web service implementation.
