LabOne, a premier medical test company, was not getting any benefit from its intranet, called The Source. LabOne needed a tool that could be quickly and easily deployed to 62 non-technical in-house content providers with a minimum training and maintenance required. Around the end of 2002, LabOne discovered Macromedia Contribute. They were attracted by the idea that Contribute puts content creators in charge of doing their own updates.
