Shell and Exxon Mobil formed Infineum to compete in the chemicals additive market. The new company required a full range of back-office operations to be available on short notice. Capgemini built an outsourced shared service center to support Infineum's business in the Asia-Pacific region. The center was implemented from concept to production in less than six months. Capgemini now operates a Singapore-based center providing accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed asset accounting, inventory control, reporting and tax compliance services.
