This paper describes how to configure the HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 1000 (MSA1000) for external boot with HP ProLiant blade servers. HP supports this function only in Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Server environments. There are few mandatory steps needed before installing of the operating system, which are mentioned in this paper.
