Sonoco Products Company, a $2.7 billion manufacturer of packaging materials for industrial and consumer markets, operates 295 facilities around the world. To stay at the forefront of the industry, and meet its own ambitious profit objectives, Sonoco wanted to increase its efficiency in procurement - to implement eProcurement and purchasing solutions, and improve the management of its complex network of suppliers. Sonoco turned to Accenture to help integrate the Ariba Operating Resource Management System and PeopleSoft Purchasing systems. Following a pilot implementation at Sonoco’s Hartsville, South Carolina campus, the system was rolled out to their other facilities in the U.S.
