What does online gaming have to do with workforce training and learning opportunities? Plenty, according to Accenture Technology Labs researchers working in the area of Human Performance Enhancement. Take the exploding popularity of multi-player online gaming and consider the possibility of using that same principle to teach skills in a richer, "learn by doing" environment. It's an area their researchers call "virtual worlds," and it promises to deliver training in a way that leads more quickly to the kinds of behaviors organizations need from their employees in order to execute strategy better than their competitors.
