Accenture Technology Labs researchers in Sophia Antipolis, France, have created several applications for the Freight Tracking solution. This article describes Accentures’ Freight Tracking solution that uses radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to allow freight companies to monitor their assets and products in real time. For rail shipping, the Freight Tracking solution uses active radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to assign unique identifiers to railroad cars, containers or products. When combined with sensor technologies, these tags can hold and transmit a variety of important information.
