COFEPRIS recognized that moving the old telephony and data networks to the new facility was cost-prohibitive. They chose instead to upgrade to a new switching infrastructure with a comprehensive telephony system. This system needed to provide a full range of voice and data services to its users and scale to accommodate the agency's growth. They turned to 3Com for a solution based on 3Com SuperStack 3 NBX Networked Telephony Solution, 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4924, 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 (48 port). The deployment of the network has given COFEPRIS a powerful Gigabit Data Network that provides redundancy and speed for crucial data packets. For system administrators, the new solution reduces the time to resolve issues or respond to user needs, especially as most can be dealt with remotely.
