The purpose of this paper is to clarify some of the confusion regarding the use and requirements for Logical Partition identification on zSeries processors, which support Multiple Logical Channel Subsystems (MCSS). The MCSS was introduced with the IBM z990 processor family and it is continued with the IBM z890 processor family.
