Microsoft Windows CE .NET is a highly customizable OS that is ideal for task-specific applications as it delivers broad configuration and application options across a wide variety of devices. In fact, Windows CE .NET serves as the underlying OS for Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC. Pocket PC optimizes the user interface and applications around personal information management scenarios common to a PDA device. This paper presents the capabilities of the current versions of Windows CE .NET and Pocket PC, which can help customers to choose the correct OS and application developers can define effective strategies for writing applications for these platforms.
