This report shows how significant potential benefits could be realized in three areas - IT costs, business costs and strategic benefit, by adopting efficient IT scenarios for the insurance industry. Key initiatives that increase efficiency include consolidating servers, storage and databases; integrating systems, and deploying new technology platforms. The report concludes that five-year IT and business costs for efficient scenarios built around IBM servers, storage and databases could be significantly lower than those built around comparable EMC, HP, Microsoft and Sun.
