Business intelligence is as important in the IT department as it is in the Finance department. Making good IT business decisions requires aligning with corporate strategy, measurable performance goals and accurate information. Nowhere is this more true than at Microsoft. In order to coordinate common goals and measure performance, Microsoft's Operations and Technology Group (OTG) deployed an internally developed intranet application called the "IT Scorecard" to track such information. Learn how this IT Scorecard solution works and how OTG is using it to provide a standardized system for collecting and analyzing key performance data worldwide. The resulting metrics are easy to understand, relevant to multiple groups of end users, and support the OTG end-to-end philosophy of service ownership. Employing an IT Scorecard has enabled OTG to use its global metrics "language" to communicate with clients, customers, and partners - and now you can leverage their efforts to build your own.
