This white paper looks at several classes of problems faced by network managers and shows examples of how to use EtherPeek and EtherPeek NX to address those problems quickly and effectively. This white paper assumes the reader has a basic familiarity with Ethernet networking and with EtherPeek and/or EtherPeek NX. These two WildPackets protocol analyzers share many functions, but the EtherPeek NX product has expert analysis features not found in the standard version of EtherPeek. Most of the examples cited in this white paper apply equally to either the product or the name “EtherPeek” should be understood to apply equally to both.
