This white paper describes the key components disaster recovery and business continuity (DRBC) planning for client/server environments. A client/server environment poses unique challenges with respect to disaster recovery and business continuity planning. It is evident that, although the migration from a legacy systems to a client/server architecture provides several organizational, technological, and economic advantages over a centralized multi-user and distributed single-user architectures, the same advantages may become significant disadvantages in the event of a disaster, if appropriate disaster recovery and business continuity plans are not made.
