Business continuity planning is done for the corporation at the enterprise level. In that circumstance, disaster recovery planning is just one component of business continuity planning. At the IT program or project level, continuity planning begins at the disaster recovery and continuity of operations level. For an IT program/project, disaster recovery planning is similar to business continuity planning in the phases that it follows and the activities that it encompasses. How it differs is in the scope of the planning effort. This white paper addresses disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning for an IT program or project.
