This white paper talks about Intel 845 chipset family and 845G chipset family platform interoperability. The Intel 845 Chipset Family, provide efficient, high bandwidth communication channels connecting the processor, the memory, the I/O subsystem, and other components together to deliver a stable mainstream desktop platform solution. On Intel 845 Chipset Family and Intel 845G Chipset Family based platforms, when warm reset is initiated, DDR DIMMs may transition into an unknown state. In order to prevent the system hang from occurring, Intel has developed a BIOS workaround. This BIOS workaround is able to detect a failing scenario.
