In 1997, Tonya Davidson started working as a receptionist at Wood Personnel Services, a small Nashville-based staffing agency. Davidson now leads the IT Department and manages complex technical projects at Wood Personnel offices and at several large on-site staffing facilities in middle Tennessee. After Davidson earned the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credential in just six months, Wood Personnel immediately promoted her to Systems Administrator. The position resulted in a substantial salary increase for Davidson. More importantly, the MCSE training equipped Davidson to manage the complex network installation project of migrating all eight Wood Personnel offices from a UNIX system to a Microsoft Windows-based network in preparation for deploying new staffing and recruiting software.
