Charles-Schwab decided to create a services-oriented architecture, based on open standards, to support enhanced communication, integration, and virtualization, through the use of existing assets. Ultimately, the goal was to create a more efficient architecture and a set of tools that will permit Schwab to deliver relevant, consistent information quicker. This case study takes a look at how a Grid enabled system helped increased both their responsiveness to market conditions and customer requirements, and how its commitment to an integrated services-oriented architecture was achieved.
