Czech Telecom (CESKÝ TELECOM) is the leading telecommunications company in the Czech Republic, providing a wide range of voice, data, and other telecommunications services. The company needed an information system to support the procurement of goods and services and make all purchasing processes both more visible and much simpler. These requirements were part of its management team’s long-term strategy to continue reducing costs in an organization of around 17,000 employees. Logica was appointed as the implementation partner to develop the largest ever system of its kind in the Czech Republic. From a number of leading products SAP’s Business-to-Business Procurement (BBP) system was chosen, primarily because of its smooth integration into the core SAP system, already being used by Czech Telecom.
