Today, many PC users desire PC systems that maintain the highest level of performance yet are smaller, quieter to fit more easily into their lifestyles. This paper describes some of the approaches that can be taken to address and balance the thermal demand and acoustic goals in a PC system. The Taishan Concept PC project is used as a case study to demonstrate these approaches.
